Get below the surface and explore Tommy Thompson Park‘s wetlands and constructed marshes with the TRCA!
We will take you on a guided hike to showcase some of the amazing hidden features we’ve been constructing at Tommy Thompson Park. We will also highlight what we’ve been doing to keep out invasive species like Common Carp, as well as protect against the major threat of Asian Carp species. Join us to learn what lies beneath the waters at Tommy Thompson Park and why it’s important!
We will meet at the Tommy Thompson Park Nature Centre, which is a 5 minute walk down the park’s main paved trail, and is the first building on your left. Parking is available in the park’s parking lot as well as on nearby Leslie St. and Unwin Avenue.
This hike will be moderate in difficulty and will travel over uneven surfaces. This event is suitable for adults and children 8 and up. If you require an accessibility accommodation, please contact Emily Rondel at firstname.lastname@example.org 7 days before the event.
This event will run rain or shine, except in the case of extreme weather. If the event needs to be cancelled due to extreme conditions, all registrants will be notified by email the morning of the walk by 7:00am.
