Waterfront Toronto, the City of Toronto, and Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA) are developing a Trails Master Plan for the Baselands at the Leslie Street Spit / entrance to Tommy Thompson Park.

As part of the consultation process, a public meeting was held on April 28, 2015. A copy of the presentation given during the public meeting is provided below:

Following this public meeting, a questionnaire was made available to members of the public in order to receive input on the trail design process. This questionnaire was made available in both hard copy and online formats, and was available until May 26, 2015. The responses received are presented in the following document:

Members of the Tommy Thompson Park User Group (TTPUG) Baselands Trails Subcommittee performed a site walk in the Baselands on July 13, 2015 to review the proposed trails. 

Finalized designs were presented at the Tommy Thompson Park Butterfly Festival on August 22, 2015. The finalized designs along with a summary of the public consultation process can be viewed below:

Hours of Operation

Weekdays: 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Weekends & Holidays: 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Tommy Thompson Park is open all holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.



Tommy Thompson Park (TTP) is located at the base or foot of Leslie Street where it meets Unwin Avenue, south of Lake Shore Boulevard East.



Lake Ontario moderates TTP?s climate, with less heat & humidity in the summer and less snow in the winter than areas immediately north. Prevailing winds are westerly, with faster speeds and greater wind chill effects. Fogs forms twice as often at TTP than the rest of Toronto.
